Job Opportunities

  • Farm Supervisor

    Description

    Oversee daily farm tasks and make sure all procedures are followed properly. This includes checking each pen to look for animals that may be sick or in distress. If a sick animal is found, the employee must give the correct medication to help the animal recover and prevent further illness or death. The Farm Supervisor is also responsible for properly handling all incoming cattle by following the correct process and assigning each animal to a lot name and an identification tag provided by the employer.

    Responsibilities

    • Supervise 1–2 crew members and make sure daily procedures are followed to keep animals healthy and well cared for.
    • Help manage herd health and regularly check pens to ensure they have clean bedding and safe conditions.
    • Check pens every day and watch cattle for signs of illness or injury.
    • Separate sick or injured animals and give medication when needed.
    • Keep computer records of animals that are treated and the medicines that are used.
    • Make sure water systems are working properly and arrange repairs if needed.
    • Maintain accurate cattle records, including quality and production information.
    • Receive new cattle and follow proper steps such as vaccinating and tagging them.
    • Help prepare cattle for shipping and receiving.
    • Perform basic maintenance on yard equipment and machinery used for cattle care.
    • Help maintain fences, corrals, gates, and holding areas.
