In addition to participating in the McCain sustainability program, our farm operations are certified under Canada GAP, a nationally recognized food safety program that ensures proper food handling, traceability, and production standards throughout all stages of potato farming and storage
On-site Safety
Safety meetings keep us proactive. Open conversations, shared responsibility, and a clear focus on doing the job right. A safe workplace doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built together through communication, accountability, and everyone doing their part.
The Highest Standards of Animal Care, Health & Stewardship We operate in full compliance with all federal and provincial regulations governing animal health, food safety, and environmental management.
Animal welfare and responsible stewardship are foundational to our operation. Every animal entering our feedlot is individually identified and entered into a comprehensive management system, allowing us to monitor health, performance, and treatment history from arrival through to harvest.
Our team follows veterinarian-approved, written health protocols that are consistently applied and carefully documented. Vaccination, treatment, and low-stress handling procedures are administered according to established veterinary guidelines to safeguard the wellbeing of every animal in our care.
Early disease detection, prompt treatment, and preventative health programs are central to minimizing stress, improving outcomes, and reducing unnecessary resource use. Responsible animal care is not only an ethical commitment — it is essential to sustainable beef production.
Nutrition & Resource Efficiency
Our feeding programs are carefully formulated to promote animal health, performance, and feed efficiency. Rations are developed and reviewed in consultation with professional nutritionists to ensure cattle receive balanced diets appropriate to their stage of growth.
Optimizing feed efficiency plays an important role in sustainability. By improving conversion rates and monitoring intake closely, we reduce waste, lower resource use, and help minimize the environmental footprint per pound of beef produced.
We continuously evaluate ingredients, feeding strategies, and performance data to support rumen health, animal comfort, and responsible use of feed resources.
